Frequently Asked Questions
NYSC Foundation is a Non-Governmental, Non-Political, Non-Profit and Private Sector-driven Organization, founded by former corps members who felt there is need to provide support for the continued healthy existence of NYSC Scheme and by extension, giving back to the Society.
The core aims and objectives of the Foundation are to mobilize resources to support NYSC activities and programs as well as to empower ex-corps members who have potential for entrepreneurship.
The Board of Trustees of the Foundation launched an empowerment scheme to assist ex-corps members who identify with the Foundation to be self-employed by granting them soft loans to start their own businesses and by extension become employers of labour. This scheme is very active and many ex-corpers have benefited.
The process is simple. To begin, register here. Please have your State Code at hand to start the process. After the registration, you will be redirected to an online form to apply for the loan.
The Foundation will process the applications received and invite eligible applicants for the next stage.
First, you must be a member of the Foundation to benefit from the soft loan apart from the fact that you must have served as a Corper. Secondly, you must complete the application for soft loan online. The form is available in your personal account profile after registration. Or you can use the menu available when you login. Ensure you attach a well written business plan to support your application.
The fees are for administrative purposes and to support the work of the Foundation of which you are a part as a registered member. You stand to benefit from all the programmes and activities organised by the Foundation.
No. You are not compelled to request for loan after payment of registration fee. Registering makes you a bona fide member of the NYSC Foundation and entitles you to benefit and participate in all our programmes and activities. The loan scheme is just one of many other schemes we have for our members. For instance, we organise workshops, symposia, and capacity building conferences for ex-corps members. As a member you can donate to all the good causes we embark on every year. Click here for more information.
The maximum amount you can borrow is N400,000.00 (Four Hundred Thousand Naira).
At NYSC Foundation we try to assist the best way possible for ex-corps members to get a good paying job after service. One such way is to advertise openings whenever they are available in our Find Jobs page (see menu at the top). Please note that we do not guarantee jobs we advertise here.
